Quelle magnifique surprise en arrivant a Big Muddy, tout au sud, à 10 km de la frontière du Montana, qui nous dévoile des paysages qui alternent badlands et vallées. Nous devions visiter le lendemain le "castle butte", mais nous sommes trop impatients, et nos jambes ne demandent qu'à bouger un peu. Il fait un temps magnifique (nos premiers 25 degrés), alors nous décidons d'aller nous dégourdir les jambes sur ce petit canyon.
What a wonderful surprise when arriving at Big Muddy, to the south, 10 km from the Montana border, which reveals landscapes that alternate badlands and valleys. We had to visit the "castle butte" the next day, but we can not wait. It is a beautiful weather (our first 25 degrees), so we decide to go stretch our legs on this small canyon.
Cette escapade nous enchante. C'est à la fois paisible et magnifique. Belle entrée en Saskatchewan !

Nous campons pour une nuit au parc municipal de Coronach. Nous devions rester deux nuits mais une suffira. Nous avons vu ce que nous voulions voir (castle butte), alors nous repartons vers Regina le lendemain.
We camp for one night at the Coronach Municipal Park. We had to stay two nights but one will be enough. We saw what we wanted to see (castle butte) so we headed to Regina the next day.
Notre compteur affiche un kilométrage qui nécessite une vidange (oui, ça revient vite en ce moment avec le nombre de km que nous faisons). Alors nous prenons RDV a Régina, et en profitons en attendant pour jouer dans un parc (le soleil et les 25 degrés sont toujours au rdv), et visiter le musée des sciences, dont toute une partie est dédiée à l'explication du fonctionnement des récoltes de la région (blé, canola, avoine, lin, lentilles… etc.) et des silots à grains. Nous restons donc deux nuits dans un camping autour de Régina.
Our meter displays a mileage that requires a oil change (yes, it comes back quickly at the moment with the number of km we do). Then we take RDV in Regina, and take the opportunity to play in a park (the sun and the 25 degrees are still in the appointment), and visit the science museum, a whole part is dedicated to the explanation of the operation of harvests from the region (wheat, canola, oats, flax, etc.) and grain silos. So we stay two nights at a campsite around Regina.
Puis un couple nous attend sur leur ferme, où ils cultivent du blé et des pois, dans les alentours de Little Manitou Lake, pour les 3 prochaines nuits !
Quel bonheur d'arriver ici, un accueil super chaleureux et beaucoup d'animaux (chevaux, ânes, alpagas, cochon, dinde, poules, chèvres, agneaux, chats et chien). Un endroit super joli encore, ou nous aurons pour fond sonore le chant des oiseaux, et quelques aboiements du chien qui surveille les alentours et nous protège des coyotes, renards, … etc. Les enfants sont dans leur élément avec les animaux, tout le monde est heureux. Ils ont même été sur le tracteur dans leur champs, avec le papa de D., 87 ans et son accueil bienveillant.
Nous le sentions déjà, mais après avoir passé ces belles journées en compagnie de J., c'est certain, nous aurons des animaux quand (et si) nous arrêterons notre voyage, elle nous a expliqué beaucoup de choses sur chacun de ses animaux, nous avons pu observer les embryons de poussins à l'intérieur des oeufs (avec une lampe de poche), nourrir des agneaux au biberon, profiter des chèvres en liberté sur terrain, apprécier la beauté de leur majestueux chien, brosser l'âne et les chevaux. Nous avons même été invité pour un feu chez un voisin des plus amicaux, qui nous a montré ces chevaux miniatures, entre autre. Le temps s'arrête, nous profitons seulement de l'instant présent, J. a su nous transmettre sa passion pour les animaux ! D. est très avenant aussi et nous nous sommes sentis bienvenus dès le départ. Merci, nous sommes très reconnaissants pour cet accueil.

Then a couple awaits us on their farm, in the vicinity of Little Manitou Lake, for the next 3 nights!
What a pleasure to arrive here, a warm welcome and lots of animals (horses, donkeys, alpacas, pigs, turkeys, chickens, goats, lambs, cats and dogs). A beautiful place still, where we will have the sound of the song of birds, and some barking of the dog that monitors the surroundings and protects us from coyotes, foxes, ... etc. Children are in their element with animals, everyone is happy. They were even on the tractor in their fields, with D.'s dad, 87 years old and his benevolent welcome.
We already felt it, but after spending these beautiful days with J., we will certainly have animals when (and if) we will stop our trip, she explained many things about each of her animals, we were able to observe the embryos of chicks inside the eggs (with a flashlight), feed bottle-fed lambs, enjoy goats roaming freely on the ground, appreciate the beauty of their majestic dog, brush the donkey and horses. We were even invited for a fire at a neighbor's friendliest, who showed us these miniature horses, among others. Time stops, we only enjoy the moment, J. has passed on his passion for animals! D. is very supportive too and we felt welcome from the start. Thank you, we are very grateful for this welcome.

Nous avons aussi visité la mer morte du Canada: little manitou lake, un lac salé dont la densité de sel est 5 fois plus élevée que l'Océan, et qui aurait des propriétés médicinales. Depuis le 19è siècle, les premières nations viennent s'y émerger pour guérir leurs maux. Il n'y a que 3 étendues d'eau comme celle ci dans le monde !
Bon, une fois qu'on a dit ça, on s'attend à quelque chose d'exceptionnel... non, pas vraiment. La météo ne permet vraiment pas de s'y baigner ce jour là (vent glacial et aucun sauna en vue à coté (clin d'oeil a nos amis de Thunder Bay)). Donc nous ne pouvons pas tester la densité de sel cette fois ci. Nous en profitons donc pour manger une glace, et discuter tranquillement au bord du lac un petit moment.

We take the opportunity to eat ice cream, and chat quietly at the lake for a while.
